Stringed Instruments<\/strong><\/p>\nMake sure your instrument is tuned!<\/p>\n
Let the stage staff know, when you arrive, if you require a Music Stand…or in the case of a “Cello”, a chair.<\/p>\n
Be well dressed…look confident…hold you head up!<\/p>\n
No “Jeans” of any kind.<\/p>\n
Shoes…No “sneakers” please.<\/p>\n
You must remember that you are now on stage…a stage performer.<\/p>\n
On your entry to the performance area, look at the Judges, and bow…slowly…then look at the audience and bow.<\/p>\n
If you are a pianist<\/strong><\/p>\nMake sure you feel comfortable when seated.<\/p>\n
Staff will help with stool adjustments if you wish.<\/p>\n
Make sure you can reach the pedals comfortably.<\/p>\n
Try to relax…perhaps a quiet deep breath!!<\/p>\n
At the end of your performance, stand, bow to the audience, then bow to the Judges. (Acknowledge your accompanist)<\/p>\n
Walk confidently from the performance area.<\/p>\n
(There is nothing like a little smile too!!)<\/p>\n
